In today’s digital world, children are more connected to screens than ever before.

WARNING: This story contains content about mental illness.  As the COVID-19 pandemic was approaching, a teenager was struggling. Over the past several years, this young person has been in hospital numerous times because of disordered eating and thoughts of harming themself.

Roman's StoryRoman is 10 years old and is an active member of the Ron Edwards Family YMCA.Roman is also autistic, anaphylactic to dairy, wheat, eggs, and sesame, and had a very severe speech delay. “We started coming about six months before COVID and we loved it so much,” says Roman’s mother, Hiromi.
