Located in a heritage home backing onto a quiet, residential development, Tansley YMCA Child Care has a different feel. Large windows beckon sunshine and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming the minute you step through the door. A recent makeover included new paint, flooring a program supplies, brightening up the interior and creating a true home away from home.

As a Playing to Learn Centre, Tansley’s caring and professional educators are committed to a curriculum that encompasses all areas of a child’s development including physical, emotional, social and cognitive abilities – and it shows. In their recent annual YMCA Playing to Learn centre evaluation, Tansley met and exceeded all curriculum expectations including supporting relationships, program activities, aesthetics, health and safety, nutrition, play and more. 

According to Sharon McCully, the centre’s supervisor, it’s a testament to the strength of a team passionate about building relationships with children, families and the surrounding community.
